9 Awesome Indoor Workouts in the Denver Area
Whether it’s nasty weather or the clock has struck that cuddle-up-on-the-couch time, we all have our excuses to stay indoors every now and then. It can be far more difficult to find motivation to work out when the weather isn’t cooperating, especially if you aren’t too into winter sports. Luckily, there are plenty of places to go for a killer workout without the cold temperatures. From yoga to pilates, TRX training to spinning, we’ve put together a list of awesome indoor workouts in the Denver area.
1. Corepower Yoga
Into yoga? Never been to Corepower? You’re in luck. If you’re just looking for a quick trial week, you’re able to sign up for seven free days of unlimited classes at any Corepower studio. Whether you’re a beginner or you have plenty of experience on the mat, corepower offers a wide variety of classes for all levels. Corepower has a network of over 170 yoga studios across the nation, and there are as many as 15 in the greater Denver area that you can walk into to sign up for your free trial. If you get hooked on the practice, you can sign up for a number of different packages to continue your membership.
2. Kindness Yoga
Kindness Yoga is one of the few places that allow you to pay for classes by donation. Kindness has been honored as Top of the Town by 5280 Magazine in 2014 and 2015. Just like Corepower, they have a great network of experienced instructors who make sure you’re getting a sufficient mental and physical work out during each class. There are seven different studios spread throughout the Denver area that you can choose from based on your area preference or proximity. 3. Movement Climbing & Fitness
Looking for more than just yoga? Look into a membership or single day visit to Movement. This gym is equipped with a weight room, cardio room, yoga studios, climbing walls, and spin rooms. An adult day pass is $20, and a monthly membership for all of these great options is only $75. Movement luckily has locations in both Denver and Boulder. All of the different exercises offered use multiple muscle groups, which means more calories and fat are burned overtime. 4. Vitruvian Fitness
If you’re looking for some more personalized training, you can find these types of classes at Vitruvian Fitness. They offer indoor cycling and group fitness classes, including functional training and TRX suspension training which works your core, chest, back, legs, glutes, heart and lungs. Vitruvian serves the communities of Northwest Denver, Lakewood, Arvada, Applewood, Golden and Wheat Ridge. They offer two weeks of personal training, group classes, a functional movement screen, and fitness evaluation for $89.
5. Metamorphosis Fitness
This gym has just recently opened at 2890 South Colorado Boulevard. They offer eight classes for $100 per month, which is the most inexpensive startup option if you want to get a feel for the environment before committing to a membership or package. 6. Endorphin
Endorphin has seven different locations in the Denver Metro area. They offer a variety of group exercise and yoga classes, including cycling, strength training, barre, and more. 7. Pure Barre
With 14 locations throughout the state of Colorado, Pure Barre offers a variety of cross training and specialty classes at different levels. They are known as the largest and most established barre franchise in the nation, with new studios opening throughout the U.S. every month. The classes provide total body workouts that use the ballet barre to execute small movements which help burn fat, and develop lean muscles. As a bonus, these studios also offer online workout classes, equipment, and workout apparel.
8. Barre Forte
After opening their first successful studio in Denver, three additional locations were opened in Colorado, as well as new licensed studios that opened in Florida and Kansas. Barre Forte offers barre teacher certification programs and licensing opportunities across the nation if you’re interested in becoming an instructor. If you’re just looking for a decent indoor workout, they also offer a variety of classes to sign up for at their four Colorado locations in Cherry Creek, Highlands Ranch, Westminster, and LoHi. You can attend your first Barre Forte class for just $10 if you want to get a feel for it before committing to a monthly membership. Barre classes are a great way to develop lean muscle mass while also enhancing your flexibility and balance.
9. CrossFit Elevation
From CrossFit Training classes, to personal training, to a barbell club, CrossFit Elevation has plenty of fitness programs that are a great potential fit for different types of people. They offer drop in classes for $20 and have an experienced team of instructors who will help you decide what is best for you. This single studio is located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Denver, right on 8th avenue and Santa Fe Drive.
