There’s a hot dog eating competition coming to Denver

Top competitors will face off in a hot dog eating competition at the 2019 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Denver.

It takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at the Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Both the top male and female finishers will qualify for a spot to compete in the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island on July 4th, 2019.

During the 2018 4th of July competition, Joey Chestnut of San Jose, California downed 74 hot dogs and 10 buns in a matter of 10 minutes, smashing his previous world-record of 72 hot dogs. The record-breaking performance meant taking home his 11th win.
