More snow on the way after late season powder day in Colorado
Snow fell around parts of high-altitude Colorado today with more on the way. Colorado’s central and northern mountains are likely to see additional snowfall over the next several days, particularly in areas of higher elevation.
Arapahoe Basin has snow on the radar consistently through next Thursday, according to Weather.com. According to their website, they’ve had two inches in the past 24 hours.
At a lower altitude, Breckenridge will likely get some snow mixed with rain throughout the same date range. Snow will be most likely in Breckenridge on Tuesday of next week.
It’s another #MayBasin day! It looks like the next few days will be filled with powder. Don’t hang up your skis and snowboards yet. #TheLegend #ABasin #ABasinLove pic.twitter.com/nvYxUSeAal — Arapahoe Basin (@Arapahoe_Basin) May 18, 2019
Late season snow has allowed Colorado skiing to continue into May and will likely bring resort skiing at Arapahoe Basin into June. They already have plans to extend their season to the weekend of June 7-9 with possible prior closures. See more about that here.
