Human bones found at Colorado park, prompting investigation
Multiple news sources have reported that authorities are investigating the possible discovery of human remains at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs.
According to KKTV, bones suspected to be human were discovered on Sunday near Fontanero Street, prompting authorities to respond to the scene. A report from KDVR stated that the bones were found by two hikers exploring the park.
The area is currently surrounded by tape barriers to prevent the public from tampering with the scene. Information has not been made available regarding how long the bones may have been in the park.
Monument Valley Park is a downtown park in Colorado Springs, Colorado that is a popular spot for runners, bikers, and walkers. It’s also home to a public pool. The entire park spans 153.4 acres of relatively flat, heavily trafficked terrain. Trails are present in the park, though most would consider these to be walking paths over hiking trails.
