Colorado man suffers skull fracture after attack in park

A man suffered skull fractures after reportedly being attacked by an unknown assailant late Tuesday in America the Beautiful Park in downtown Colorado Springs.

The man had been walking in the park just before 11:30 p.m. when he was attacked by an unknown person with an unknown object. The attack reportedly occurred while walking under the Midland Trail beneath the Cimarron/I-25 bridge, according to Colorado Springs police.

The man was transported to Memorial Hospital Central, where he was treated.
