Victim found in rollover vehicle with gunshot wound identified

The man killed in a Park Hill shooting Thursday has been identified as 31-year-old Zackary Smith, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner announced Wednesday.

Smith was found in a rolled-over vehicle with a gunshot wound in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood at 3:50 a.m. Thursday.

Officials declared the cause of death was from a single gunshot wound. The death has been ruled a homicide.

Officers found the car rolled over with Smith inside near the intersection of Quincy Street and East 17th Avenue. He had been driving the car.

Smith was in critical condition when he was transported to Denver Health by ambulance. He was pronounced dead at the hospital late Thursday night.

Investigators are working to develop suspect information.
