A red flag warning was issued as gusty winds, low humidity and dry vegetation is expected in Denver on Monday, the National Weather Service announced.

The warning extends to West Adams and Arapahoe counties as well as east Broomfield County County from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Monday is expected to reach 82 degrees, well above the 69-degree average high for Oct. 5.

Sunny skies and winds between 7 and 13 mph are also forecast with gusts up to 35 mph possible. The overnight low is expected to drop to 46 degrees.

The rest of the week is predicted to be more of the same with sunshine, highs in the 80s and clear, cool nights.

“The very dry forecast will continue this week, with changes possible a week from now, when the main weather pattern finally shifts,” Denver Gazette news partner 9News reported.
