E-470 construction to cause I-70 ramp closures over weekend
Northbound and southbound ramps connecting E-470 to Interstate 70 will be closed Saturday for construction, the E-470 Public Highway Authority announced Friday.
The southbound ramp from I-70 to E-470 will be closed from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured east to Gun Club Road, south to Sixth Parkway and Stephen D. Hogan Parkway and west to enter southbound E-470.
The northbound E-470 ramp to westbound I-70, Exit 20B, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For this closure, traffic will be detoured off the roadway at Exit 20A to access I-70 eastbound or westbound.
The closures are part of the E-470 Road Widening Project, adding a third lane in each direction between Quincy Avenue and I-70 and widening bridge structures at various locations.
Construction for the third lane began in summer 2019. The first phase of the widening project was completed in 2017 between Parker Road and Quincy Avenue.
Drivers should expect delays and follow posted detour routes. Closures are weather dependent and subject to change.
