Lakewood man found guilty of sexually assaulting 5 women
Darrell Wall, 50, was found guilty of sexually assaulting five women in Lakewood since 2018, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.
Wall lured the women into his van and RV, offering them a ride or a place to sleep, the DA’s office said. Most of the victims were experiencing homelessness, mental health issues or addiction.
“Wall preyed on the vulnerability of these women who were struggling to get by,” said District Attorney Peter Weir.
“They showed great courage as they each took the stand and testified about what had happened to them, allowing us to hold Mr. Wall accountable and stop these assaults on women in the future.”
The Lakewood Police Department was contacted by one of the victims in October 2019. She reported the sexual assault and identified Wall as the assailant.
An investigation identified four additional women who had also been sexually assaulted by Wall between June 2018 and November 2019. The five women were all loosely acquainted with Wall.
After four days of trial, a jury found Wall guilty of two counts of sexual assault, one count of unlawful sexual contact with force and two counts of unlawful sexual contact.
Wall’s sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 7.
