Settlement proposed for security company that sent Matthew Dolloff on day of fatal shooting

Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations, one of the security services involved in employing unlicensed security guard Matthew Dolloff during October’s fatal shooting, has proposed a settlement regarding its security license.

The settlement has been agreed upon by Pinkerton and the Denver City Attorney’s Office. The settlement will be reviewed by Ashley Kilroy, the executive director of the Department of Excise and Licenses.

Pinkerton was scheduled to have a hearing regarding its license with the Department of Excise and Licenses on Tuesday that was canceled in light of the proposed settlement.

Preliminary hearing for Matthew Dolloff postponed to January

If the settlement is not approved by Kilroy, the hearing will be rescheduled. The settlement is not official until it is approved by Kilroy.

Details about the pending settlement have not been released.

Last week, the other involved security company, Isborn Security Services, reached a settlement in which it agreed to surrender its security license.

Under the agreement, Isborn will not be able to reapply for a new license or liquidate the company and apply for a license under a different name for five years.

2 security firms cited for directing unlicensed security guard Matthew Dolloff

Pinkerton and Isborn were issued criminal citations in November for a municipal code violation for employing or directing Dolloff while he was not licensed to provide security services in the City and County of Denver.

According to the citations, Pinkerton was contacted by 9News to provide an armed, plainclothes security guard for a protest.

Pinkerton subcontracted to Isborn, which provided Dolloff for the job.

At the protest, Dolloff allegedly fatally shot 49-year-old Lee Keltner. He has been charged with second-degree murder and is out on bond pending trial.
