Survey lists Denver as 10th happiest city in country
Are some portions of the country happier than others? Apparently so.
Denver broke into the top 10 of Men’s Health’s happiest and unhappiest cities in America in the publication’s latest issue that hit shelves earlier this month.
Researchers surveyed residents from the United States’ 100 largest cities and based the results on multiple factors, including well-being, mental health state, community, financial well-being, environmental factors and physical health.
Denver is the only city in the southwest to have cracked the top 10, but fell behind Lincoln, Nebraska, which has been named the happiest city.
One of the city’s biggest factors in its ranking are the 85 miles of paved biking trails and parks, and having the lowest obesity score of all 100 cities, officials said.
Besides Denver, Colorado Springs (16) and Aurora (22) also were ranked in the top 25 happiest cities in the country.
