Two arrested in drive-by shooting, dozen rounds fired into Clifton home
Two men were arrested for firing a dozen gunshots into a Clifton home early Thursday morning, the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The suspects, 21-year-old Justin Fowler of Grand Junction and 20-year-old Trey Shriver of Clifton, were arrested and taken to the Mesa County Detention Facility.
Fowler is facing eight charges, including reckless endangerment, prohibited use of weapons, possession of a defaced firearm, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and obstructing a peace officer.

Shriver is facing 10 charges, including reckless endangerment, prohibited use of weapons, possession of a defaced firearm, possession of weapons by a previous offender, resisting arrest and attempt to influence a public servant.
The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of Moonlight Court and Belford Avenue.
The home was occupied at the time of the shooting but no one was injured, deputies said. The shooting caused an estimated $2,000 in damage.
Deputies located Fowler and Shriver after they returned to the scene of the crime during the investigation, driving a maroon Toyota pickup truck that witnesses described fleeing the area after the incident.

Deputies found a defaced gun and several shell casings within the truck.
Officials are investigating the circumstances around the shooting. It is currently believed to be an isolated incident, deputies said.
