Denver weather: Chilly Friday ahead of chance of light snow over weekend

Friday is expected to be mostly sunny and chilly in Denver, the National Weather Service in Boulder predicts.

Temperatures are likely to reach a high of 49 degrees with breezes around 6 mph, the agency said.

Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 25 degrees with partly cloudy skies and light winds.

Saturday, temperatures are forecast to be in the 50s with mostly sunny skies. Denver will start to see moisture enter the forecast that night when slight chances of snow appear, the agency said.

“Metro Denver will see a few flurries Saturday afternoon but there won’t be much accumulation,” Denver Gazette news partner 9News reported. “Otherwise, it’ll be partly cloudy and seasonal Saturday with cooler temperatures on tap Sunday along the urban corridor.”

Sunday and the start of next week will also have slight chances of snow.

Here’s the rest of this week’s forecast from the National Weather Service:

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 50 degrees and winds between 6 and 11 mph with gusts up to 18 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny with a high near 40 degrees winds around 5 mph. A 20% chance of snow after noon.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 42 degrees.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 34 degrees. A chance of snow.
