Longmont police searching for man in assault of juvenile

Longmont police officials are looking for a suspect that assaulted a juvenile female Saturday night at a business in northwest Longmont.

Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1700 block of Hoover Street just after 7 p.m. in Longmont, following a report of an assault on a juvenile. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

The victim did not require medical assistance.

She described the assailant as a man who had a raspy voice and had a strong odor of cigarettes. He was last seen wearing a large heather gray ski type jacket with a dark lined hood, and had dark brown khaki cargo pants on, police said.

Officers located a purple flashlight with the initals “ESL” engraved on it and a black beanie with a white strap and patch that says “DP DIESEL POWER GEAR” on-scene.

Longmont police officials are encouraging anyone who may have information about the suspect or assault to contact the police department and ask for Detective Cassidy Jones at 303-774-4360 and reference case #21-570.
