Pedestrian seriously injured in Aurora hit-and-run

Officials are investigating after a hit-and-run Wednesday night left a pedestrian hospitalized, the Aurora Police Department announced.

Police said the hit-and-run happened about 9:15 p.m. at Havana Street and East Fourth Way, near the Aurora Academy Charter School.

The driver fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Police said the victim is in stable condition.

One dead after shooting in Aurora

The vehicle is described as a gray and beige SUV with significant front damage, including to the windshield and a missing passenger-side mirror. The license plate is unknown.

Anyone with information or who sees the vehicle is asked to call 911 or contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Tipsters can remain anonymous and are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
