Police investigating homicide in Commerce City

The Commerce City Police Department (CCPD) is investigating a fatal shooting Saturday morning in which one person was killed and another seriously injured.

Commerce City officers were dispatched to the 11200 block of East 96th Place at 7:50 a.m. after multiple reports of a shooting, CCPD officials said.

Denver police investigating a homicide in Valverde neighborhood

Shortly after their arrival, officers found an adult male and female who both had been wounded. 

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, while the woman was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition, officials said. 

Information about the victims is not being released at this time.

Police say investigators are gathering information into what led to the shooting and believe there is no current threat to the public.

No arrests have been made or suspects identified as of early Saturday afternoon.
