All passengers survive small plane crash in Garfield County
A small plane carrying three people crashed Sunday afternoon in Garfield County, the Colorado River Fire Rescue announced.
All three passengers survived the crash, but the extent of their injuries is unknown, officials said.
The plane went down about 2:30 p.m., just south of Slit near Chair Bar Road.
Search and rescue responded to the scene nearly 90 minutes later because of the remote location and difficult terrain crews had to hike through.
The CRFR, Silt Police Department, Garfield County Search and Rescue and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office contributed in the rescue effort.
The three passengers were flown out of the scene by CareFlight of the Rockies and Classic Air Medical.
The cause of the crash and identities of the passengers have not yet been released, officials said.
