Driver killed after being ejected, pinned under vehicle in Arvada crash

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Thursday night in Arvada, the Colorado State Patrol said.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. at Highway 72 and Candelas Parkway.

CSP said the vehicle hit a curb and rolled over, ejecting the driver, who then became pinned under the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CSP said the driver was a 41-year-old man from Arvada. His name was not released.

Initial reports were the crash was a hit-and-run with a pedestrian pinned under a vehicle and the driver leaving the scene, but that was not the case, CSP said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
