One injured, three pets rescued during Littleton house fire

One person was transported to a hospital following a house fire in Littleton Saturday afternoon.

South Metro Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to a home in the 5100 block of South Newton Street after multiple reports of a house fire around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the one-story home, said a spokesperson for the department.

Firefighters safety evacuated an undisclosed number of occupants from the home and rescued one dog and three cats.

One resident was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation, SMFR officials said.

Officials said the family that lives in the house has been displaced.

Currently officials don’t believe suspicious activity ignited the blaze but an investigation is ongoing.
