CDPHE reminds Coloradans to still get tested if showing COVID-19 symptoms

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is reminding and urging Coloradans to to get tested for COVID-19 if experiencing symptoms.

The message comes as the number of people getting tested has dropped across Colorado and the United States as more people get vaccinated, CDPHE officials said.

“While it is good news that more of the state is opening and cases are decreasing, we cannot completely let our guard down or stop using preventive measures until everyone who wants a vaccine has received one,” said Eric France, chief medical officer for CDPHE.

“Testing allows the state to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and helps us mitigate outbreaks and increased disease transmission.”

Anyone showing any of the symptoms that include a fever, cough, loss of taste, among others are encouraged to get tested as soon as possible, and to self-quarantine until the result comes back.

Those who might have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are urged to self-quarantine and not get tested for five days after you were exposed to the person, CDPHE officials said.
