Quebec Street to close under I-70 for weekend construction
A portion of Quebec Street will be closed in Denver over the weekend for construction of the Colorado Department of Transportation’s Central 70 Project.
Quebec Street under Interstate 70 and the eastbound I-70 off-ramp to Quebec Street will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
As a detour, drivers going north on Quebec Street should use the on-ramp to eastbound I-70, exit at Central Park Boulevard, travel north to the Central Park Boulevard on-ramp and exit at the westbound I-70 off-ramp to Quebec Street.
Drivers traveling south on Quebec Street should take the on-ramp to Stapleton North Drive, turn left on Holly Street, turn left to Smith Road and exit at Quebec Street.
The Central 70 Project is reconstructing a 10-mile stretch of I-70, adding an Express Lane in each direction, removing the 56-year-old viaduct and lowering the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards.
During the weekend closure, crews will work to remove the top layer of asphalt on Quebec Street and repave the roadway.
This work is weather dependent and subject to change.
