2 arrested following home invasion, robbery in Adams County
Two people have been arrested in connection to a robbery and home invasion early Saturday morning, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies said the victims were asleep inside their home in the 8700 block of Franklin Street when they were awoken by sounds of someone trying to steal their car at around 1 a.m.
One of the victims confronted the suspects, who demanded the keys. The victim retreated inside the home but the suspects broke in, using a rock to smash the living room window and climb inside.
The suspects threatened the victim with a large hunting knife and implied they had a gun. They left after forcibly taking the keys from one of the victims, deputies said. The victims were not injured during the altercation.
The suspects left the scene in the stolen Ford Ranger, abandoning the previously stolen Subaru they arrived in.
Deputies spotted the stolen Ford Ranger on Washington Street near 76th Avenue, chasing it to the 4900 block of Washington Street where the suspects lost control and drove into a utility pole.
