Massive boulder blocks popular mountain road in Colorado Springs
A massive boulder fell from a cliffside and landed on a popular mountain road in Colorado Springs on Sunday.
Gold Camp Road, in west Colorado Springs, was blocked off by a large boulder on a section of road between the two tunnels that takes drivers into North Cheyenne Cañon Park.
The boulder left little space for hikers and mountain bikers to get by. The dirt road, which is very narrow in some areas and has minimal guard rails, quickly became congested by drivers who had to turn around.
Officials have warned visitors to avoid using the road, which stretches west to Cripple Creek, until the boulder is removed.
