Law enforcement officials recovered three explosive devices, a Molotov cocktail and a large number of firearms and weapons while executing a search warrant at a Fort Collins home on Thursday.
The search was executed by local and federal agencies on Thursday at the home of Nicholas R. Dice, 34, of Fort Collins.
Dice was previously arrested in May by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office in Loveland for an outstanding warrant and was later charged with several additional charges including possession of an explosive device.
He posted bond under conditions that did not allow him to possess firearms or weapons, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
In June, the sheriff’s office received a tip from the Kansas Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms that Dice previously had an explosive device detonate in his basement while he was working on it.
This prompted law enforcement to obtain a search warrant for his home and on Thursday found the explosives, a Molotov cocktail and an undisclosed amount of firearms and weapons.
By having these items in his possession, Dice violated the bond agreement from his May arrest.
Dice was apprehended and is currently being held on suspicion on three counts of possession of an explosive device, possession of an incendiary device and violation of bond conditions.
The investigation into Dice is ongoing and the sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Investigator Hobson at 970-498-5162.
