Man killed in drive-by shooting in Adams County

A man was killed Monday night in a drive-by shooting in Adams County, the county sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said the shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. near North Pecos Street and West 76th Avenue, just east of Westminster.

The victim was shot in the chest and taken to a hospital in critical condition. Deputies announced the victim had died from his injuries early Tuesday morning.

The victim’s identity will be released by the coroner’s office after his family has been notified.

The homicide investigation is ongoing, deputies said. No arrests have been made.

No information is available about the shooter. The suspect vehicle is described only as a white or silver full-sized truck.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 303-288-1535. Tipsters can also call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 to remain anonymous and be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
