Girl dies after falling in front of school bus in Garfield County
An 11-year-old girl died after being run over by a school bus in Parachute on Thursday morning.
Police said the incident happened at 7:30 a.m. after the girl tripped while running to catch her school bus. The girl fell underneath the wheels of the bus, according to a release from the Parachute Police Department.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Garfield County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim at a later date.
Parachute is about 200 miles west of Denver.
