Pleading the 45th: Trump says he ‘declined to answer’ questions during NY AG deposition

Former President Donald Trump declared that he “declined to answer” questions during his deposition before New York Attorney General Letitia James’s office Wednesday.

Trump argued that he was the target of “an unfounded, politically motivated Witch Hunt” and that James “openly campaigned on the policy of ‘Get and Destroy Trump.'”

“Accordingly, under the advice of my counsel and for all of the above reasons, I declined to answer the questions under the rights and privileges afforded to every citizen under the United States Constitution,” he wrote in a post to his Truth Social platform.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
