‘I’m not suicidal’: Kari Lake reacts to Hillary jab with ‘Clinton Body Count’ joke

A war of words between Kari Lake and Hillary Clinton took a conspiratorial turn on Thursday.

Lake, the Republican nominee for Arizona governor, alluded to the “Clinton Body Count” while reacting to the former secretary of state’s criticisms of her.

“I’m in perfect health, my brakes on my car are in good shape, and I’m not suicidal,” Lake quipped on Fox News after remarking how she was “a little concerned” when she saw Clinton “badmouthing” her. Lake shared the clip on Twitter and tagged Clinton.

Earlier, Clinton chastised Lake on CNN for seeming to make light of the recent attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband, asking, “What kind of person is that?” and calling Lake “the woman running in Arizona.”

Lake came under fire this week after making comments during a candidate rally on Monday about the home invasion, noting, “Nancy Pelosi, well, she’s got protection when she’s in D.C. — apparently, her house doesn’t have a lot of protection.” Lake has since argued that she “never made light of the attack” and that her comments were taken out of context.

Lake is running against Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs for the job of Arizona governor. Lake, who is endorsed by former President Donald Trump, is leading Hobbs by 4 1/2 percentage points, according to the polling average presented by RealClearPolitics.
