Denver weather: Thunderstorms roll across metro area
Heavy thunderstorms rolled across the Denver metro area on Friday, bringing rain, hail, thunder and lightning.
The National Weather Service in Boulder issued several severe thunderstorm warnings across the north Denver metro area until 3 p.m., including Westminster, Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Thornton, with storms moving toward the Eastern Plains.
Denver International Airport said travelers should expect flight delays of up to two hours on Friday due to the storms. Travelers were advised to check with their airline for specific delays.
Looking ahead into Friday night, there’s a 50% chance of showers before midnight. Expect partly cloudy conditions and a low near 51 degrees.
Chances of showers are scattered throughout the holiday weekend, with highs in the high 70s to low 80s.
