I-25 South ramp and parts of Champa Street closed next week
Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) announced two significant closures on busy streets that may cause commute changes. Alternate routes for the two areas are advised.
A “travel and safety improvement project” will shut down the ramp to southbound Interstate 25 on Broadway from Oct. 9 to 14, according to a press release from DOTI.
Drivers heading south on Broadway can reach southbound I-25 by taking the Alameda Avenue. Drivers heading northbound on Broadway can reach I-25 south by heading west on Mississippi Avenue and then north on Santa Fe Drive. Signs for the detour will be posted in the area.
The improvement project looks to add a new elevated on ramp, a new entrance to the RTD Park-n-Ride on Bannock Street and a new bikeway on Broadway to reach the RTD station.

Champa Street
Construction crews will be removing the last crane used in the Colorado Convention Center Expansion project next week, shutting down parts of Champa Street.
The closure will be on Champa Street from 14th Street to Speer Boulevard and will last from Oct. 9 to 14. Message boards will be on the nearby roads to warn drivers, according to the department release.
Those heading on Champa toward Speer are asked to take 14th to Glenarm Place to bypass the closed block.
