Denver firefighters battle 2-alarm fire in under-construction home
Multiple fire agencies fought a two-alarm fire in an under-construction, two-story home in the Belcaro neighborhood.
The Denver Fire Department responded to a fire report in the area of South Madison Street and East Belcaro Drive around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, firefighters found a “large” residential structure with “heavy fire” on the first floor, according to a social media post by the department.
Responders began putting water on the fire and found the heavy fire coming from the basement. Crews backed out of the building and raised the fire to a two-alarm status, asking for the assistance of another agency.

There was no one in the building and no injuries reported, a Denver Fire Department spokesperson told The Denver Gazette.
The fire was officially under control around 2:30 p.m. Fire investigators will begin looking into the cause of the incident.
