2023 was a special year for coach JR Payne and the University of Colorado women’s basketball team.
In March, the Buffs made a run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Iowa and star Caitlin Clark. Colorado beat Middle Tennessee and Duke during the first two rounds of the tourney.
Things continued go well when the new season started in November. The Buffs beat then No. 1 and defending champ LSU in Las Vegas to open the season. Colorado has been ranked in the Top 10 of the AP poll most of the season. Some of their highest rankings since the 1990s.
