Trash fire on trailer halts traffic on I-25 in Denver metro area
Fire crews battled a vehicle trailer fire on northbound Interstate 25 in Northglenn Monday morning.

The fire closed the three right lanes of northbound I-25 at 136th Avenue for an extended duration until the fire was extinguished.
CDOT said the vehicle fire was located at Exit 225 (136th Avenue) at Mile Point 225.1.

Drivers can expect at least a 10-minute delay through Northglenn, Thornton, and the northern Denver metro area while only one lane of traffic is open.

North Metro Fire Rescue District said there are no injuries. The agency said the fire was in the back of a trailer and consisted of trash from a construction site, with items such as highly flammable carpeting and drywall.
Brighton Fire Rescue District and Thornton Fire Department are assisting on the scene as well.
