90-year-old woman hit, killed in Boulder crosswalk

A 90-year-old woman was hit and killed while trying to cross a street in Boulder on Wednesday.

Boulder police said the crash happened just after 9:15 a.m. at Broadway and Alpine Avenue when a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica hit the woman as she crossed Alpine in the crosswalk.

The nonagenarian pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where she died Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the 35-year-old woman who was driving the Chrysler stayed at the scene and was not injured in the crash. The driver had two children in her vehicle at the time and they were not hurt in the crash.

The Chrysler was heading south on Broadway and turned left on Alpine when the crash occurred, police said. Authorities said speed or impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The Boulder County Coroner’s office will release the 90-year-old pedestrian’s identity after her next of kin are notified.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Officer Coon at 720-626-9749 or email CoonS@bouldercolorado.gov in reference to case 24-0057
