Commerce City police looking for car in possible attempted kidnapping

Commerce City Police continue to search for a suspect in an alleged attempted kidnapping of a teenage girl in January. The department asks the public for help identifying the suspect or vehicle.

The incident occurred on Jan. 17 in the 9900 block of Laredo Drive, near Second Creek Elementary School around 4:30 p.m., according to a social media post by the Commerce City Police Department.

The suspect vehicle — a Nissan Altima or Maxima with tinted windows and damage to the front driver’s side headlight area — followed behind the young teen for around three blocks. The girl eventually contacted her parents, who then called 911.

The department then began a “massive search,” according to a previous social media post, but was unable to find the suspect or vehicle.

The teen described the driver as an Hispanic male in his 30s, bald, with a full black beard down to his chest area and a snake tattoo down his left arm, according to the post.

Anyone with information is asked to call Commerce City Police Department’s tip line at 303-289-3626.
