DIA flights sees hundreds of delays amidst winter weather
Wintry conditions have once again caused weekend delays for flights in and out of Denver.
Dozens of flights have been delayed at Denver International Airport Saturday while snow and ice strike the region. The airport issued a ground stop briefly Saturday morning, officially lifting it at 9:30 a.m. The stoppage and ongoing weather have brought about delays, though.
As of 3:30 p.m., 468 overall flights have been delayed at DIA, both incoming and outgoing. There have been five cancelations. Airlines affected included United, Southwest and American Airlines, according to FlightAware.
According to the National Weather Service Boulder, the DIA area is expected to get 1-3 inches of snow today and 1-2 inches overnight, piling onto the 2 inches the airport saw Friday evening.
Those flying out of Denver today should check DIA’s website at FlyDenver.com for possible delays and cancellations throughout the snowy day.
