Man found dead in Aurora apartment, investigated as homicide

The Aurora Police Department is investigating a homicide that left one man dead Tuesday night.

At about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the 12600 block of East Pacific Circle in southwest Aurora to conduct a welfare check at an apartment.

Officers announced they were outside of the apartment but didn’t hear a response. The apartment’s door was open and the lights were on, according to the department. Police eventually entered.

Upon entering, officers found a 46-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aurora’s Major Crime Homicide Unit and CSI responded to the scene.

“There is no suspect information. However, the preliminary investigation indicates the homicide was not random,” the department said in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
