Denver Weather: Cloudy with precipitation and afternoon thundershowers; snow tonight
Weather in the Denver area is expected to be cloudy with a high near 55 according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. There will be a chance of rain before noon, then a chance of rain and thunderstorms between noon and 1 p.m., then rain likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. The rain could turn to snow after 7 p.m. tonight with an accumulation of 4 to 6 inches possible. The chance of precipitation will be 70 percent.
Lingering snow will continue into Monday morning but should gradually end by midday. Strong north winds will continue to produce very poor visibility across the Palmer Divide and eastern plains in the morning. Expect impacts to the morning commute.
It will be breezy with a light and variable wind becoming north 11 to 16 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
