Denver residents can expect sunny skies, with a high near 86, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. A south southwest wind will blow between 5 to 8 mph, becoming west northwest in the afternoon.
The warm, dry, and slightly breezy conditions will lead to elevated fire weather conditions across northern Larimer and Weld counties.
Tonight is forecast to be mostly clear, with a low around 53. West northwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming south after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
“Drier and windy conditions will lead to locally elevated fire weather conditions on Sunday and Monday,” the NWS said. “Some periods of critical fire weather conditions will be possible but largely dependent on fuel conditions.”
Looking into next week.
“A cooler, unsettled weather pattern is expected for early next week as a storm system tracks across the region. This would bring better chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially Monday into Tuesday,” the NWS said.
Here is the rest of the week’s forecast from the National Weather Service:
Saturday: A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 78. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. South southwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph.
Monday: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64.
