1 person arrested for vehicular assault after crash in east Colorado Springs

One person is seriously injured and another is in custody after a car crash in east Colorado Springs Friday night, according to a Colorado Springs Police Department blotter entry.

The driver of a Nissan SUV was heading north on North Murray Boulevard. Then they veered into southbound traffic where they then struck a Honda SUV. The driver of the Honda SUV sustained serious bodily injury, according to police.

The Major Crash Team assumed responsibility for the investigation of the scene at North Murray Boulevard and East Bijou Street at 10:49 p.m. 

They put the driver of the Nissan SUV in custody for vehicular assault, according to the blotter entry.

Police said while the investigation is ongoing, alcohol does appear to be a factor in the crash.
