Denver weather: Feeling summer’s heat, highs in the 90s Saturday

If you’re heading to Denver PrideFest or another outdoor event, make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen.

Denver is forecast for a hot and sunny weekend with highs in the low to mid 90s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

This heat is expected to extend into next week as well.

“An upper level ridge over the Central and Southern Rockies will be responsible for bringing very warm/hot temperatures and mostly dry conditions through most of next week,” according to the weather service.

Winds will likely stay mild Saturday, ranging from 5-8 mph. In the evening, temps will drop to around 62 with mostly cloudy skies turning clear throughout the night.

Here’s a look at the full forecast from the National Weather Service:

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 94. South southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 96. Southwest wind 6 to 13 mph becoming north northwest in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.

Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.
