Former Broncos star says he was put on airline’s ‘No Fly List’ after handcuffing incident
In case you missed it, NFL Hall of Famer and former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis was recently removed from a United Airlines flight after a flight attendant accused Davis of striking him.
The situation unfolded after the flight attendant missed Davis’ son’s request for ice, according to Davis, at which point Davis says he touched the flight attendant’s arm to get his attention. The attendant claimed that Davis struck him.
Davis was then handcuffed and escorted off the plane once the flight landed in California in a response that is said to have involved FBI agents. Davis called the flight attendant’s accusations inaccurate and was released.
At last report, United Airlines issued a statement claiming that they have apologized to Davis for the incident and that the flight attendant was removed from duty during an investigation into the situation.
The latest update to the situation comes with a social media post from Davis on July 30, showing an email that was sent to Davis informing him that he’s no longer able to fly on United Airlines or regional carriers the company uses until the incident is thoroughly reviewed. The airline also requested that a written report stating Davis’ side of the story be submitted within 96 hours of that notice.
“Adding insult to injury, United not only had me removed from their flight in handcuffs, but placed me on their No Fly List after it was determined I did nothing wrong and was released,” reads Davis’ caption on the social media post. “While my family and I continue to have difficult conversations with our children, I will continue to fight for what is right for all passengers of United.”
