Denver weather: Cooler temperatures and multiple rounds of showers Friday

Denver is forecast for multiple waves of showers throughout the day and evening, with highs in the 70s Friday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. 

There’s a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon between noon and 3 p.m., and then again between 7 and 10:30 p.m. Expect a high of 74 degrees.

“Patchy fog will continue until late morning especially along the I-25 and I-76 corridors,” the NWS said. “Cooler temperatures continue today with scattered showers and storms developing in the higher elevations this afternoon.” 

Small hail, heavy rain, and wind gusts to 35 mph will be possible under these storms too.

Looking ahead to Friday night, expect mostly cloudy skies and a low of 56 degrees.

Chances of rain will continue through the weekend and most of next week as temperatures rise back into the mid-80s. 

Here’s the 4-day forecast from the National Weather Service.

Saturday: There’s a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon forecast. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 85 degrees.

Sunday: There’s a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 89 degrees.

Monday: There’s a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Expect partly sunny skies and a high of 86 degrees.

Tuesday: There’s a slight chance of showers in the forecast in the afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 89 degrees.
