Cucumber products recalled in grocery stores across Colorado after possible salmonella outbreak
Albertsons Companies has initiated a voluntary recall of some store-made deli and produce items containing bulk cucumbers associated with a recent illness outbreak, according to a Tuesday news release.
The items were available for purchase at Safeway and Albertsons stores in several states in the West and Midwest regions of the U.S., including Colorado, officials said.

On Nov. 29, Baloian Farms of Arizona Co. Inc., recalled fresh, bulk-packaged cucumbers, sold between Oct. 12 and Nov. 26, after learning that one of its suppliers may have been connected with several reported instances of salmonella infection, the release stated. Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
The company has identified 20 store-made products that may contain Baloian Farms cucumbers, including hummus, vegetable dips and sandwiches.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to ingest them. Instead, they are advised to either dispose of them or return them to their local store for a full refund. Anyone who has consumed these products, and is concerned about illness, should contact their health care provider, officials said.
