School delays, closures announced in Colorado Thursday morning

Several Colorado school districts have announced closures and delays for Thursday.

Light snow will fall along Colorado’s Front Range Thursday morning. The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Day for Thursday morning because of the likelihood for snow impacts to the morning commute.

Limon Public Schools, Elizabeth School District, Kiowa C-2, and Elbert School District 200 are closed Thursday.

Calhan RJ-1 School District, Lewis-Palmer District 38, Peyton School District 23JT, Pawnee School District RE-12, Woodland Park RE-2, and Peyton School District 23JT are among the districts with delayed starts on Thursday.

While totals will be light in basically all cases — Denver may only get an inch or so of total snow Thursday — it will be cold enough that any snow that falls will stick to roads quickly Thursday morning. Highs will only be in the upper 20s in town.

A full list of closures can be found on The Denver Gazette’s news partner, 9NEWS.com.
