Thornton Police seek public assistance with shooting, armed robbery investigation
Thornton police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting that occurred Saturday at an apartment complex near the 2500 block of East 104th Avenue.
Police were initially sent to the apartments at 2:40 a.m. and found a 25-year-old man had been shot. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
An initial investigation by police found that the resident of the apartment was not home but was alerted to movement outside the complex by a security camera. The resident asked his brother, who lives in the same complex to check on his unit.
The suspect was confronted by the brother and shot him before fleeing the area with items from the apartment, police said.
Photos of the suspect, taken from the apartment cameras were provided to police. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident.
