77-year-old woman dead following crash in Lone Tree

A pedestrian died following a crash in Lone Tree early Wednesday morning.

The Lone Tree Police Department responded to a crash report at the intersection of Lone Tree Parkway and Lincoln Avenue around 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the City of Lone Tree. A 77-year-old woman was found injured at the scene and later died.

Investigations found that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue and the pedestrian was crossing in a marked crosswalk on the west side of the intersection. 

Police department investigators have not yet determined the factors that caused the crash and have not arrested the 32-year-old driver.

Lincoln Avenue was closed in the area between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., but has since reopened, according to the city.
