Two Denver Nuggets starters won’t play vs. Blazers in final game before All-Star break
A couple of Nuggets starters got an early start to the All-Star break.
Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. will miss his third-straight game with a left hamstring strain. Porter was previously listed on the injury report with hamstring tightness.
Aaron Gordon also is out. He played in Monday’s game against Portland but missed Wednesday’s rematch against the Trail Blazers with right calf injury management. Gordon missed significant stretches of the season with calf strains.
Jamal Murray started the day listed as probable with left knee inflammation, but he is available Wednesday.
Russell Westbrook and Peyton Watson expectedly missed Denver’s last game before the break. Nuggets coach Michael Malone said he thought Westbrook would be able to rejoin the rotation when the Nuggets’ season resumes Feb. 20.
With a win Wednesday, the Nuggets would have the same record they did last season at the All-Star break — 36-19.
Without Porter and Gordon, the Nuggets started Murray, Julian Strawther, Christian Braun, Zeke Nnaji and Nikola Jokic vs. Portland.
