City slates Future Fest 2025 for April 26
Denver is getting ready to roll out a citywide celebration focused on empowering youth and connecting their passions to future careers.
Future Fest 2025 is free to youth of all ages and their families and will take place Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Civic Center Park.
The event will laud the city’s youth for their community contributions, offering inspiration to become the next generation of public service leaders.
“Future Fest offers a unique opportunity for Denver’s youth and their families to discover new possibilities, engage with their community and explore exciting career pathways,” Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said in a news release. “I hope this event ignites a passion for public service, encourages bold dreams and inspires attendees to embrace new opportunities as they chart their future careers.”
Scheduled activities include contests, a parade, giveaways, a performing arts showcase and more.
Future Fest 2025 will also feature three competitions where young people can showcase their talents and passions.
For budding business entrepreneurs, the business pitch competition – partnered with Denver Economic Development & Opportunity – will feature two rounds: a preliminary round with video submissions and a live Shark Tank-like pitch-off from the main stage at the Future Fest event. Selected finalists will receive coaching from industry leaders and have the chance to network with potential investors and mentors. Applications close March 24.
The T-shirt design contest invites artists aged 14 and under to create a T-shirt design including the phrase “Future Fest 2025.” The winner will receive a $100 gift card, and the will be featured on Denver’s social media channels and on the official Future Fest 2025 T-shirt.
Step teams, majorettes, dance crews and individual performers aged 5-18 may showcase their talents on the main stage. Teams can register for the competition by submitting an application and a video of their routine. The registration deadline is Friday, March 28, and selections will be announced Monday, March 31.
Denver Parks and Recreation will offer sports clinics open to youth of all ages to promote physical activity, teamwork and a love for sports.
“Future Fest 2025 is a testament to the vibrancy and potential of Denver’s youth,” said Kathy Nesbitt, Executive Director of the Office of Human Resources, “There is a world of possibilities for their future right here in their hometown. We want to spark their curiosity and celebrate the diverse talents that make our community thrive.”
