Denver man sentenced to 21 years for human trafficking
A Denver man will spend 21 years behind bars after sexually trafficking women between 2021 and 2024.
Denver District Judge Nikea Bland sentenced William Galbreath to 21 years in prison and sex offender registration on Wednesday on one count of human trafficking, according to a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Galbreath had already pleaded guilty to pimping in 2020 and was sentenced to four years of supervised probation. Despite being on probation, Galbreath “allegedly identified multiple vulnerable women, coerced them to engage in commercial sex with promises of large sums of money and created fake businesses to launder the proceeds of the commercial sex” between April 2021 and April 2024, according to the release.
The suspect was charged with human trafficking for sexual servitude, pimping, violation of a protective order and various counts of money laundering but pleaded guilty to one count of human trafficking in January as part of a plea deal.
Galbreath used an alias, Chris Sanders.
Investigators determined the suspect has worked as a pimp since 2012, according to the arrest affidavit. He was previously stopped by Denver Police transporting a female sex worker during a sting operation. He also hadn’t reported income to the Colorado Department of Revenue since 2017.
“William Galbreath preyed upon and manipulated his victims to satisfy his own greed. For that, he will now pay a heavy price. This strong sentence makes clear that if you engage in human trafficking in Denver, you will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” Denver District Attorney John Walsh said in the release.
